Tower of Babel

The Lord came down to look at the city and the tower the people were building. “Look!” he said. “The people are united, and they all speak the same language. After this, nothing they set out to do will be impossible for them! Come, let’s go down and confuse the people with different languages. Then they won’t be able to understand each other.” In that way, the Lord scattered them all over the world, and they stopped building the city. That is why the city was called Babel, because that is where the Lord confused the people with different languages. In this way he scattered them all over the world. (Genesis 11:5-9 NLT)

“But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” (Daniel 12:4 NKJV)

He required everyone—small and great, rich and poor, free and slave—to be given a mark on the right hand or on the forehead. And no one could buy or sell anything without that mark, which was either the name of the beast or the number representing his name. (Revelation 13:16, 17 NLT)

Notice how one of the scriptures is from the first book of the Bible. The next one is from the middle of the Bible. And the last one is from the last book of the Bible. The three scriptures may not seem to tie together in their meaning, but they sure do tie together beautifully as far as prophecy is concerned.

Notice in Genesis 11 where the Lord declares that because mankind congregated together and spoke the same language, nothing they set out to do would be impossible for them. So the Lord scattered everyone a great travel distance apart across the seas and confused their languages. In our present day, that language barrier and travel distance has been broken down for the great minds of the world and we see technology emerging that is literally frightening. We are getting to that point where most things they set out to do is not impossible any more. We are now fulfilling what mankind set out to do at the Tower of Babel. At the same time Daniel 12 is being fulfilled as far as our travel abilities to go from any point on the earth to another point with ease and speed and our knowledge for the common man is only a Google search away. The satellites and cameras we are putting up can find and pinpoint almost anyone anywhere.

The question comes down to how close are we really to the anti-christ taking power and fulfilling Revelation 13? Really think about it. We have not only rebuilt the Tower of Babel, but we have rebuilt Sodom and Gomorrah. People scoffed before at the delay of our Lord’s second coming (2 Peter 3:4). But can it be those scoffing days will very soon be over?
