As I was listening to a Christian song, three of the verses really caught my attention. They rang out in my spirit. I found myself singing them over and over again, just worshipping the Lord.
The song was ‘You Won’t Relent’. The words go like this:
“I don’t want to talk about you like you’re not in the room.
I want to look right at you.
I want to sing right to you.”
You Won’t Relent (excerpt).MP3
Then I began to be convicted, asking myself the question: When I am around others, do I convey the fact that the Lord is right there with me in the room intimately, or do I present the Lord as a distant acquaintance?
Oh sure, when I am in my nice and safe prayer closet and I enter the holy of holies to be with the Lord, I have Him right there in the room with me. I also have no problem when I am with like minded Christians and I pray. It’s when I am in the world with non-Christians that are lost without the Lord that I sometimes forget to convey Him with the intimacy I should.
I need to make sure that Jesus is always in the room with me and I need to convey that attitude and message to a dying world.
“For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.” (Mark 8:38 NKJV)
