The following is an extremely timely sermon delivered by Senior Pastor Carter Conlon at Times Square Church on March 6, 2016 that every single Christian alive needs to listen to and heed:
Our Heavenly Father always has a way of confirming the heartbeat message He wants delivered to the Bride-of-Christ. That is why it seems that no matter which way I turn, God-fearing men of the LORD are delivering the same message. Franklin Graham is touring America and trying to wake people up to the fact that it is decision time, for America is at a crossroads with a flood of evil that is about to be unleashed:
Dr. David Jeremiah tells us this, “I wake up and scan today’s headlines, I am often tempted to think, ‘Toto, we’re not in America anymore.’ I’m exaggerating of course, by only a little. When I look at the changes that have occurred in the land I love—and in the Church I love even more—just in my lifetime, I have to pinch myself to see if it’s a dream gone bad.” In his book ‘I Never Thought I’d See The Day’, Dr. Jeremiah examines the signs of the decline of Western civilization and how this accelerating cultural shift will impact us all. These trends and events include:
Marriage becoming obsolete
The Bible marginalized
Spiritual warfare intensifying
America turning its back on Israel
He goes on to encourage us that it’s not too late to reverse the downward spiral our culture finds itself in today, but we must truly humble ourselves and change our ways and speak out wherever we can.
Oh Christian wake up! No more time playing church or playing nominal christian. Look around you and embrace reality. Heed the following advice that has always been there for Christians, but is more pertinent this very day than ever:
“Knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.” (Romans 13:11-14)
Oh Christian feel the urgency! Turn to a life of total sobriety and holiness. Get things right with anyone you are at odds with. Go after those you know who once served the Lord. Stand in the gap of any prodigals in your family. Pray for conviction of everyone around you and that you come in contact with that they will give their hearts to the LORD. Many Christian leaders believe we only have months before this flood of evil is unleashed. There is no guarantee of one last revival in Scripture laid out before the rapture and the subsequent tribution period. Oh Christian pray!
