A pastor from a country that is hostile against Christianity said this at a mission’s conference, “The reason the Christians in the United States have not suffered persecution yet is because they are so good at steering clear of any form of persecution.” To put it bluntly, American Christians have become professionals at the art of persecution avoidance!
“Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you.” (John 15:20 NKJV)
I stand by the following statement I am going to make: “We have become so feeble in our Christianity in the United States, because we base it on our experience when we walk out of a Jesus Culture concert rather than on the knowledge of the Word of God. We have loved having our ears being itched by the heresy that spewed forth from the so called Toronto Blessing and New Apostlic Reformation, rather than the firm foundation of the Word of God. We love motivational speaking rather than convictional preaching from the Word of God. We would much rather listen to Christian radio than spend time on our knees with the Bible opened before us. We do everything in our power to flee from any form of persecution, when we know we should be standing up proclaiming the Word in the face of hostility. We do not want to feel any form of pain, so we go to great lengths to sedate ourselves, thus fleeing any form of anguish for the lost souls around us. Face it, Christians would much rather be entertained than pick up their cross and follow Jesus.”
Because of this, a day is coming very soon to the United States that Christianity will be declared a hate philosophy. Are you ready? What will you do?
Oh, you believe the ‘Rapture’ will take place before then or you believe that ‘Dominionism’ and ‘Kingdom Now Theology’ will take over our US government. Wake up my friend and open your eyes. America is no longer what she was. There is no guarantee that the ‘Rapture’ will take place before a persecution of American Christians takes place. There is a force that is at work to prepare the way of the Antichrist. It is undermining our values at a sickening pace. There are no longer just disagreeing views in our American culture. There is an all out hatred that has been released and it is spreading like wildfire. Soon Christianity will be pointed at as being the cause.
Yes, we are to be positive and uplifting, but at the same time we must have a balanced and realistic perspective. This is where American Christianity lacks. Francis Schaffer is no longer with us, but here is what he warned:
“When the history is written on this generation, the failure of the men of God who stand at the pulpit will be the failure of preparing their people to suffer.” (Francis Schaeffer)
