Put On A Shelf

Oh Christian, do you ever feel like you’ve been put on a shelf and forgotten about? Have you been sidetracked from the visions that God gave you years ago? Are you frustrated with what seems like a limited existence? As a result of your frustration have you fallen into sin? I am here to tell you, “Don’t give up on yourself because God hasn’t given up on you.”

“For the Lord loves justice, and he will never abandon the godly. The godly will possess the land and will live there forever.” (Psalms 37:28‭-‬29 NLT)

“The Lord preserves all who love Him.” (Psalms 145:20 NKJV)

Think about Moses. He went from being in Pharaoh’s household to being on the back side of a mountain tending sheep for 40 years. This must have seemed like a useless existence to him, especially after being educated by Egypt’s highest learning centers.

Just like God was committed to Moses and raised him up, God is committed to you with that same power! He was preserving and preparing Moses for his tasks ahead just like He is preparing you for your role in the days ahead where He will move you to higher and holier ground as your heart yearns.

“Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.” (Ezekiel 36:25‭-‬27 NKJV)

You say that you have gone too far and you will never be used by the Lord again. You must have forgotten about Peter. This disciple of the Lord committed the worst sin of all. He denied knowing Christ three times. He even cursed his Lord. But the story does not end there. Turn your Bible to John chapter 21 and read how he repented and was restored. Then turn a few more pages to Acts chapter 2 and you will see where he proclaimed the gospel boldly at Pentecost where 3,000 people were saved as a result of his preaching. This disciple who had shriveled in cowardice was now a fearless evangelist, full of fire.

So my friend, as you face your own struggle, remember that the Lord will never give up on you. All that the Lord asks is that you have a repentant heart and trust in His promises. He will then restore the vision that He gave to you and He will allow you to fulfill it. You are His possession and He will lead you into green pastures and still waters as He promises in the 23rd Psalm!
