Nothing Sacred

image

You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will consider nothing sacred. (2 Timothy 3:1‭-‬2b NLT)

Please read the following three articles. They literally bring new meaning to the words “nothing is sacred anymore”. Notice how none of the sources actually denied what was written and none said that the claims were incorrect:

Drag King

No Hell

Homosexuality Accepted

When I read these three articles I believe God allowed me to feel some of what Jesus felt when He cleared out the Temple, once at the beginning (John 2:13) and once at the conclusion (Matthew 21:12-13) of His earthly ministry.

I believe Paul hit the nail on the head when he wrote the first chapter of Romans. Notice how God deals with this kind of wickedness by abandoning them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desire:

But God shows His anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.  Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship Him as God or even give Him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, Who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved. Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, He abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too. (Romans 1:18‭, ‬21‭-‬21‭, ‬24‭-‬32 NLT)

Those that continue in this wickedness have their destiny laid out for them:

Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people—none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God. (1 Corinthians 6:9‭-‬10 NLT)

What is heartbreaking is that they refuse to understand and they don’t stop there. They actually invent new ways to sin. No, we are not to give up on them, but at the same time we must face the reality of the situation. No wonder the earth groans for our Lord coming again:

For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as His adopted children, including the new bodies He has promised us. (Romans 8:22‭-‬23a NLT)

He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! (Revelation 22:20 NLT)
