You Are Not Yours

On one hand, what I write stands as a reminder to Christians. But more importantly, it serves as a warning to non-Christians and a wakeup call to those teetering on the edge of becoming a Christian.
But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ (Luke 12:20 NKJV)

In Luke 12:20, the word ‘required’ is the Greek verb ‘apaiteo’, which translated means ‘to demand back’. God has appointed a time when He will demand your soul back from you. It is an appointment you will neither be late for nor miss. The question is: will you be ready?

Whether you believe there is a God who created you or not, if you shut Him out of your life, you are on the broad road to destruction. You are your own ‘god’. The world revolves around you. Everything is seen and evaluated through your ‘me vision’. You must numb out the bad things in life by drugs, alcohol, or some other distraction. You are drawn like a magnet towards the pleasures in life, even if it leaves behind a trail of devastation. Other people are there to be used, abused, and discarded when done. It is their fault for allowing themselves to be used. Everything is OK as long as you are not caught. Then if you are, it is always someone else’s fault. You consider yourself a ‘good person’ because you contribute to a humane or environmental issue and you hold the door for the elderly. Yet you will kick a co-worker down who is vying for the same promotion as you are, ignoring the fact that there will be a day of reckoning.

Each and every soul ever created will have to resign to the fact that Jesus Christ is ‘LORD’ and bow down to Him, even if they vehemently disagree and oppose it while still living in this world. There is only one way to inherit eternal life–> and that is to give up self completely and accept Jesus Christ as Savior and allow Him to be 100% Lord of your life while there is still a chance.

For those teetering on the edge of Christianity, wake up to the fact that God’s laws most certainly apply to you:
Even though I gave them all my laws, they act as if those laws don’t apply to them. (Hosea 8:12 NLT)

The following four quotes put things into perspective:

“Many people see salvation only as deliverance from judgment; they have not seen that salvation is also deliverance from self.” (Watchman Nee)

“Everyone wants a savior. No one wants a Lord. Christ is called Savior 37 times. He is called Lord 740 times.” (John Van Pay)

“Jesus expects one hundred percent surrender, and when that is accomplished He rewards a thousandfold.” (Billy Graham)

“Man says, ‘Show me, and I’ll trust you. God says, ‘Trust me and I’ll show you.'” (unknown)

We Christians may not be able to make God tangible to a dying world, but we certainly can represent Him in Spirit and in truth. Are you letting people know that their life is not theirs?
