Twenty years ago, when the Twin Towers went down, people flocked to the churches looking for answers, where the doors were opened seven days a week for prayer and services. As life went back to normal, that quickly waned. As David Wilkerson observed, people went to the churches and found that most were dead. He predicted that with the next big jolt to the American way of life, people would not seek the churches as they did when the Towers went down. How true that is. Yes, Covid-19 temporarily closed many church doors in March 2020, but when masks and social distancing were instituted and church doors were reopened, where were the people?
When I look around me, I see the country I love going down the drain. We are the last stronghold standing in the way of the ushering in of a one world order.
It is bittersweet to me. Even though I see my country declining along with so many of the denominations going by the wayside, I know that my God is on the throne and everything is happening exactly according to His plan. It is being perfectly fulfilled according to Scriptures written thousands of years ago.
God has not changed. He is still to be found exactly as He always was:
For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:5b-6, 8 NKJV)
God is not the problem. He is not hiding. The problem is us. It is us that needs to hold onto the above promise in Hebrews. Where is God? He is only a bent knee and humbled heart away!
