Overcoming With A Testimony

What is heartbreaking is that the Bible foretells how some will turn away from the true faith at this time:

Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. (1 Timothy 4:1 NLT)

It is clear when we read the Bible, then look around us, that the end is at the door. Everything is aligning itself for the Antichrist. Prophecy is about to unfold very quickly. As I pour over the Book of Revelation, there are two words that jump out at me and they are: OVERCOME and TESTIMONY.

Let’s look at these two words. First, let’s look at OVERCOME. The following PDF describes who Overcomers are:

What is sad is that many Christians who are not Overcomers, will not be taken up in the Rapture and be spared of going thru the Tribulation (Revelation 3:10). Revelation Chapter 2 Verses 7, 11, 17, 26 and Chapter 3 Verses 5, 12, 21 exclusively say, “He who overcomes!”

Here are the verses in Revelation written out where OVERCOME is used concerning those true to the faith:

7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God. 11 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not bep hurt by the second death. 17 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it. 26 And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations. (Revelation 2:7‭, ‬11‭, ‬17‭, ‬26 NKJV)

5 He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. 12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. 21 To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. (Revelation 3:5‭, ‬12‭, ‬21 NKJV)

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. (Revelation 12:11 NKJV)

These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, for He is Lord of Lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful.(Revelation 17:14 NKJV)

He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. (Revelation 21:7 NKJV)

Now for the second word, TESTIMONY, that ties in very closely with the first word OVERCOME (see Revelation 12:11). A TESTIMONY is a statement or declaration of a witness under oath or affirmation, usually in court. It is evidence in support of a fact or statement; proof. It is an open declaration or profession, as of faith. Smith Wigglesworth gives a great description of what a Testimony on this earth should be:

If there are any doubts what Wigglesworth says, here is what the Word of God says:

Whoever speaks [to the congregation], is to do so as one who speaks the oracles (utterances, the very words) of God. Whoever serves [the congregation] is to do so as one who serves by the strength which God [abundantly] supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified [honored and magnified] through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 4:11 AMP)

Here are the verses in Revelation written out where TESTIMONY is used concerning those true to the faith:

1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. 9 I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. (Revelation 1:1‭-‬2‭, ‬9 NKJV)

When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. (Revelation 6:9 NKJV)

When they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. (Revelation 11:7 NKJV)

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. (Revelation 12:11‭, ‬17 NKJV)

And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” (Revelation 19:10 NKJV)

Now the question turns to you. Are you living a Christian life that OVERCOMES with a TESTIMONY that verifies it?
