Songs With Anointing

‘Anointed’ simply means dedicated to the service of God.
‘Anointed Songs’ simply are ones that move us closer to God through worship.

What I want to make clear is that Anointed Songs are not about hype and emotion, but about worship. We must be very careful that we do not get caught up in the hype of the music and miss the firm foundation of our faith that must be solely grounded upon the Word of God. There are too many ministries out there that draw the people in with fantastic so called ‘Worship Teams’ but are so lacking in accurately teaching the meat of God’s Word. Remember, music is not mentioned in the armor of God in Ephesians Chapter 6. Music is only there to loosen up the soil, it is not the soil! True worship and praise have their birth and emanate from within a soul and work their way out. It is not by music working its way into an individual and manifesting its way out in hype like worldly music does at disco’s, lounges, bars, dance halls, concerts, etc.

Also, recognize the difference between regular Christian Music and true Worship Music. Christian Music, even though it is positive and uplifting, it is mostly about us and our personal walk. It is based upon adrenaline. On the other hand, Worship Music is 100% about the LORD and not us. We must sing in a way that totally glorifies Him and not in a way that concentrates on the goosebumps we get. Too many Christians today are goosebump chasers that pack out the arenas to their favorite Christian artists simply to satisfy their quest to have their hair follicles raised. When this happens, the fringes with secular music are blurred. The following video explains this a lot better than I can:

I have put together a group of about Twenty Three of my favorite songs that I believe are ‘Anointed Songs’ that are touched by the Lord and move me closer to Him and allow me to 100% worship Him. Then there are other Anointed Songs that you may have listened to for years without any dramatic effect. Then one day, bam, it sinks in and you find yourself pulling over to the side of the road with tears streaming down your face. That is what happened to me with the following song. The only thing I can figure out is that it reminded me of the times that I was not as close to the Lord as what I should have been, but He was right there waiting for me to realize that He did it all for me and all He wanted was my heart–>and now I can worship Him for it:

23 All You’ve Ever Wanted

“All You’ve Ever Wanted”
by Casting Crowns

I just looked up today and realized how far away I am from where You are.
You gave me life worth dying for, but between the altar and the door I bought the lies that promised more and here I go again.

Lord, I know I let You down.
But somehow, I will make You proud.
I’ll turn this sinking ship around and make it back to You.

But all my deeds and my good name are just dirty rags that tear and strain to cover all my guilty stains that You already washed away.

(‘Cause) All You’ve ever wanted, all You’ve ever wanted, all You’ve ever wanted was my heart.
Freedom’s arms are open, my chains have all been broken.
Relentless love has called me from the start and all You wanted was my heart.

I was chasing healing when I’d been made well.
I was fighting battles when You conquered hell.
Living free but from a prison cell.
Lord, I lay it down today.

So I’ll stop living off of how I feel and start standing on Your truth revealed.
Jesus is my strength, my shield and He will never fail me.

No more chains, I’ve been set free.
No more fighting battles You’ve won for me.
Now in Christ, I stand complete
