Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. (Romans 13:11 ESV)
Warning! If you claim to be a Christian, what you read in this article I write may make you extremely angry. I started it before the 2020 US presidential election.
I texted this back on October 23, 2020 to a very good Christian friend of mine: “Even if Trump wins, the radical movement will still have its way. Just a matter of time. We as true Christians will be stripped of everything.”
In my article ‘Not of this World’ from November 13, 2020 I wrote this: “The 2020 Presidential election is a blessed wake up call for us Christians. God in His mercy wants to strip us of all dependence that is not on the solid rock of Jesus Christ. Are you allowing Him to shake you of all that hinders you?”
Then in my article Removes Kings and Sets Up Kings from December 11, 2020 I wrote this: “Let’s determine to be the most righteous Christians we can be no matter what earthly leaders God appoints over us. May people find an excellent spirit in us, just like they did with Daniel.”
For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? (1 Peter 4:17 ESV)
We must shift our attention from all the false prophets and ministers (Pat Robertson, Paula White, Sid Roth, Jeremiah Johnson, Joel Osteen, Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn, Bill Johnson, Kris Vallotton….to name just a few of the biggies) that love to stand next to the cross and make millions off of it, rather than take up their cross (Matthew 16:24). I am appalled at the way Christians break the second commandment by putting Trump (and yes I voted for him) on a pedestal along with the multi-millionaire televangelists they elevate. What’s worse, rather than fleeing these false prophets, Christians will vigorously defend these false prophets and their false prophecies.
But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in my name that I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.’ And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord , if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. (Deuteronomy 18:20-22a ESV)
Even publications like ‘Christianity Today’ and ‘Charisma’ twist Scripture and make excuses for these false prophets because they make money for them. They forget Jesus’ dire warning for the end times:
And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. (Matthew 24:11-12 ESV)
Our job is to preach the Gospel. Plain and simple (Mark 16:15. Prophecies in the Bible (not false prophecy that itches the ears) tells me things will get worse and worse for true Christians:
But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
All these are but the beginning of the birth pains. (Matthew 24:8 ESV)
And if those days had not been cut short, no human being would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.(Matthew 24:22 ESV)
Jesus taught us an extremely valuable lesson when He was tempted by Satan. Jesus elevated the written Word of God above everything. Why is it that so many Christians have itchy ears and swallow hook, line, and sinker when it comes to prophets that are not in-line with the written Word, even after their prophecies are hit and miss?
The gift of Prophecy was given to the Church as a precious gift. We are told not to despise true prophecy (1 Thessalonians 5:19-22). It is to benefit, comfort, and exhort (1 Corinthians 14:3). But God also knew that because people in our time will have itchy ears, false prophets will be prolific to itch those ears. Because of their flippancy, without true repentance, their end is horrifying:
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.'” (Matthew 7:21-23 ESV)
In conclusion, I believe because of the false teachings of the prosperity gospel, dominionism, and kingdom now theology that crept into the Church, Christians who believed these prophecies of four more years of prosperity and protection under Donald Trump are extremely confused and scared right now. The visits to my website are through the roof. Think about it, persecution lays ahead for true Christians and it plunges many into fear because they are not prepared for it. But as Jesus told the early Church:
And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28 ESV)
Now is the time to wake up, flee the false prophets, and be ready:
“Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps.” (Matthew 25:1-4 ESV)
