As I was driving the other day, I was behind a car that had a Coexist bumber sticker like the one above. All of a sudden I had a flood of thoughts fill my head. I am sure the American 2016 presidential election had a lot to do with it simply because it revealed the deep divide there is in this country and the fact there is hardly any unbiased news sources anymore. I have seen friends, family and workmates torn apart by this divide. What I see with my spiritual eyes is that there is an all out war going on stemming from the wickedness flowing out of the demonic world.
Speaking from the aspect of being a bible believing citizen of the USA, I believe in the following principles as reinforced by Scripture:
1. Abortion is murder and must be stopped
2. Marriage is 1 man to 1 woman only
3. We must bless Israel
4. We must protect our borders
5. We need to stand behind righteous law enforcement
6. We must maintain our right to bear arms to protect innocent life
“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34)
I also want to speak as a citizen of the Kingdom of God. Hostility against Christianity is greatly on the rise worldwide. This is why we as Christians must never forget that our faith is exclusive. There is absolutely no other name or way beside Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Not because we say so, but because our Father in Heaven says so.
“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name (verse 10: Jesus Christ of Nazareth) under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
(Acts 4:12 NKJV)
“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:10-11 KJV)
“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” (John 3:17-19 KJV)
We can put all kinds of bumper stickers on our cars to make us all warm and fuzzy, but reality must be faced. My source of knowledge, wisdom, and authority comes first and foremost from the Word of God. I want to be able to live out my life exemplifying the love of Jesus Christ and coexist with those who do not accept the authority of the Bible, but this is not where the problem lies. The root of the problem is a hatred that has arisen for the LORD God of Israel and those that proclaim His Word. Our enemies want to stifle us. This is their agenda, which is far from coexistence.
There is only one way to break down this barrier. Our government and leaders are not the answer. We must pray for one last intervention of the Holy Spirit. Only the Holy Spirit can place conviction of sin on those that vehemently oppose righteousness and true justice. Yes, we need to pray for one last revival and be ready when it occurs! Don’t be surprised if it starts and runs outside the walls of church buildings where indifference has set in.
