Look Up not Rise Up

In my last article, a person commented that I was ‘horse shoeing’ world events into Scripture. In other words, I was trying to fit the foot of one of Cinderella’s sisters into her glass slipper. I re-examined myself to make sure I was rightly dividing the Word of God and that I was sincerely seeking Holy Spirit discernment and wisdom. In conclusion, I could honestly say I was not guilty of what I was accused of.

I also was aware that there are laced throughout Scripture very definite descriptions of what the world will be like leading up to the Rapture and the Tribulation that follows. We are clearly told that it will not take true Christians by surprise:

But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. (1 Thessalonians 5:4‭-‬6 NKJV)

We are further told that when we see the signs unfold that Scripture foretells, things will happen very quickly:

He (Jesus) who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.” Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! (Revelation 22:20 NKJV)

I do not feel led in this article to spell out the conditions of the world along side what Scripture foretells, but it is evident of how rapidly the world and America have turned its back and fallen away from the God Who created it:

Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first. (2 Thessalonians 2:1‭-‬3a NKJV)

It all boils down to this:

Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. (Titus 2:13 NKJV)

Our hope as Christians is not to be in the coming elections. It is not for us to ‘rise up’ and put our trust in man’s efforts. Our only hope is to ‘look up’ and trust only in Jesus!

“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” (Luke 21:28 KJV)
